THE ZOMBIE VAPES GUIDE TO NICOTINE AND VAPING

If you’re considering switching from cigarettes to a vape device, then you may have some questions about nicotine in vapes. It can be confusing understanding how nicotine and vapes work together, so we have put together all-you-could-need nicotine in vapes guide which will give you the full rundown on this topic. No matter how basic or complex your question on this subject, we seek to answer all of the most commonly asked questions and queries!

How Much Nicotine in a Cigarette VS Vape?

To understand nicotine levels in a vape, it is important to first understand how much nicotine is in a cigarette for a true comparison. Of course, the nicotine levels in cigarettes vary greatly depending on the different brands available. But, on the low end, a single cigarette usually contains around 6 milligrams (mg) of nicotine. Whereas higher levels of nicotine in cigarettes can reach up to 28mg. On average, you can expect a cigarette to contain between 10 and 12mg of nicotine.

However, what many people don’t tend to realise is that you don’t actually inhale every milligram of nicotine as it burns. For each whole cigarette smoked, you will most likely inhale between 1.1 and 1.8mg of nicotine. To put it in terms of a pack of 20 cigarettes, once you have gone through the whole pack you will have inhaled between 22 and 36mg of nicotine.

This is where the advantage of using a vape comes into play, as vape users know exactly how much nicotine is in their vape device and can control it. Typically, e-liquids arrive in strengths of 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg, with the highest level being 36mg. Plus, there is also the option of enjoying an e-liquid which contains no nicotine at all! Most vape users will graduate down the different strengths of nicotine until they no longer need any in their vape at all.

Adding Nicotine Shots to Your Vape

The control of how much nicotine you put into your vape is one of the biggest draws of the device for many smokers making the leap from the cigarettes. In fact, besides being able to buy e-liquids in specific nicotine strengths, vape users are also able to mix their own blends of vape juices using nicotine shots which top-up regular e-liquids. So, if you’ve found a flavour or brand of e-liquid you love, then you don’t have to compromise on nicotine strength with the use of a nicotine shot. Similarly, if you find yourself needing a slightly stronger strength on nicotine, then you can easily and safely level out the difference to your needs.

How to Open Your Vape Juice to Add a Nicotine Shot

To safely mix your nicotine shot with your e-juice, the process is simple.

Step 1:

Begin by removing the caps and rings of both the e-liquid and nicotine shot bottles.

Step 2:

Next, take a pair of pliers, and gently nip the nozzle of your e-liquid. Rock or twist the pliers back and forth until the nozzle slips out of the e-liquid bottle, exposing the inside.

Step 3:

Repeat this process with the nozzle of the nicotine shot. Some people may prefer to just squeeze the nicotine shot through the nozzle, however, this amount of pressure can cause the lid to fly off and the nicotine to be spilt.

Step 4:

Next, pour the nic shot directly into the e-liquid. If you want to make sure you get every drop into the e-liquid, then rest the nic shot bottle upside down inside of the opening of the e-liquid, and leave it for 5-10 minutes to ensure every drop is used.

Step 5:

Put the e-liquid nozzle back onto the bottle, and make sure that it is completely back into place by applying pressure onto the nozzle and pushing down until you hear a distinct click. It is important that you make sure the nozzle is firmly back in place so that it doesn’t come loose when you’re filling your vape device.

Step 6:

Finally, crew the larger cap and lid back onto the bottle making sure it is sealed tight, before shaking the bottle for at least 2-3 minutes to ensure the e-liquid and nicotine shot is well mixed.

Now your e-liquid should be well mixed and ready to vape, so enjoy your custom e-liquid mixed to your nicotine tastes.

How Old Do You Have to Be to Vape Without Nicotine in the UK?

If you’re looking specifically to vape without the use of nicotine at all, you may find yourself wondering what the legal age limit is in the UK to be able to do so.

In the UK, the law was changed in 2015, to ensure that no one under the age of 18 was buying, possessing or using vape devices which is the same age limit for cigarettes. However, many people believe that this law does not apply if there is no nicotine involved, which is an incorrect and dangerous assumption to make.

In the UK, the law on age limits is unchanged by the amount of nicotine in a vape. So, even if you’re looking to vape just for the experience or flavour with no nicotine involved, you still must be 18 or over to legally do so. This law is similar across the world.
